Good Margin is a small app — these are the questions we hear the most. If yours isn't here, write to us and a human will reply.

01How do I add a product card?+

Tap the black + in the top-right of the wallet. A blank card opens. Fill in name, factory cost (in the cost currency), freight %, duties %, retail price (in the retail currency), VAT % and your wholesale markup — every field auto-saves and the margin updates as you type.

02How do I duplicate or delete a card?+

Swipe right on a card to duplicate it — Good Margin creates a copy (handy for a new colourway or size run) with " copy" appended to the name. Swipe left to delete. You can also delete from inside the card, with a confirmation step.

03What do the card colours mean?+

Cards turn rust below 15% retail margin (a hard floor), amber between 15% and your warning threshold (30% by default), grey between the warning and good thresholds (30–55% by default), and sage above your good threshold.

04Can I change the colour thresholds?+

Yes. Go to Settings → 02 Margin targets and move the two sliders: your warning level (where cards leave amber and turn grey) and your good level (where they turn sage). The 15% rust floor stays fixed — that one is the alarm.

05Where do exchange rates come from?+

From the European Central Bank, fetched through the Frankfurter API. 23 currencies are supported. Rates auto-refresh on launch if the cache is over an hour old, and are stored on your device, so the last set is used if you're offline at a fair or in a factory.

To force a refresh, go to Settings → 04 Exchange rates → Refresh now. You can also flip Auto-refresh off there if you'd rather pin a rate.

06Can I price in two currencies on one card?+

Yes. Pick a cost currency (e.g. USD from a Vietnamese factory) and a retail currency (e.g. EUR for Paris). Good Margin converts the landed cost at today's ECB rate and shows your margin in the retail currency.

07What does the price-sensitivity slider do?+

Open a card and scroll to 03 Price sensitivity. Drag the slider ±50% from the current retail price; a bar chart redraws the full margin curve and the projected margin updates in real time, colour-coded by your thresholds. Found a number you like? Tap Set as retail price to apply it — wholesale recalculates from your markup.

08Can I sync between iPhone and iPad?+

Yes. Sync is on by default through your own iCloud account — cards, defaults, thresholds and currency choices all carry across. We don't run a server, so we never see them.

09Is there a subscription?+

No. €5.99 once in the EU ($4.99 elsewhere). Free updates. Every season, every category, every currency.

10I lost my cards. Can I recover them?+

If iCloud sync was on, reinstall the app and sign in with the same Apple ID — your cards return. If it wasn't, and the app was deleted, the cards are gone (we don't keep a server copy). Worth checking that sync is on now.
